Maldives Bans Journalists Over Newspaper Ownership Row
A court has slapped a 2-year ban on journalists who triggered the closure of the Maldives' only newspaper when they resigned en masse and set up an independent online publication over an ownership dispute. Haveeru Media staff resigned after its founder was forced to quit editorial and administrative control for taking a more independent stance.
