World Tiger Population Goes up for the First Time in 100 Years

For the first time in 100 years, the world’s tiger population has gone up. The rise, from 1,706 in 2011 to 2,226 in 2014 is now 3,900 tigers globally. In the beginning of the last century, the tiger population was around one lakh. From the verge of extinction, Researchers believe that the chances of the species survival are improving.
