Sole Woman Forest Ranger for 20,000 Sq.Acre of Forest
A Forest Beat Officer in Kadapa district, Ragala Subbalakshmi is the sole ranger of the Seshachalam biosphere reserve for the past two years. This 25-year-old officer covers the 20,000 square acre of treacherous beat of a jungle known for its notorious red sanders smugglers and wild animals and needs a minimum of two days to do it each time.
