Neurosurgeon Sergio Canavero Plotting Human Head Transplant
It may sound like something from a horror show but, if it works, a head transplant could greatly improve quality of life or even save people who are paraplegic or have advanced cancer. Canavero plans to do it by 2017. But many surgeons are highly skeptical of this procedure due to complexity of the task and lack of understanding of the human brain.
