Arctic Foxes Fertilize and Grow Their Own Garden Home

Since Arctic foxes live deep underground, and move too quickly to follow in real time, the colorful fox dens, in an otherwise gray landscape, are the key to better monitoring the population. The vegetation is a result of the foxes’ organic waste that supports almost three times as much botanical biomass in summer months as the rest of the tundra.
