Surgery to Control Obesity May Help Diabetics: Study
A first-of-its-kind study by a Mumbai doctor on 80 patients in the city to control type-2 diabetes has shown that gastric bariatric surgery can also treat diabetes. Even as the American Diabetes Association awarded Dr Shashank Shah for his study, endocrinologists say these patients must be monitored to check if they revert to being diabetic.
