Brazil Condemns Call for Forced Contact with Isolated Tribes

The Brazilian government has strongly criticized a call by US anthropologists to force contact with South America’s 50 to 100 most isolated tribes to ensure their survival. Contact can cause loss of land and resources to violent outsiders, exposure to diseases to which they have no immunity, and loss of autonomy and self determination, it says.
