Researchers Speed Up Whole Human Genome Sequencing

Genetic diseases are the leading cause of death for infants in the United States. Doctors rely on whole-genome sequencing for timely diagnosis and treatment. However, even the fastest sequencing technique till now had taken about 50 hours to complete, most times making it too late. Researchers in the U.S. have now cut that to 26 hours using a new device.
