Pharmaceutical Won't Patent Medicines in Poor Countries
A British pharmaceutical giant took a laudable step towards broadening the access to important new medicines in the developing world by allowing manufacturers in the world's poorest countries, such as in Africa, to make and sell versions of its drugs in those areas. But lower middle income countries will have to pay a small royalty.
