India Bans the Import of Foreign Dogs for Breeding

The India government has banned the import of foreign breeds of dogs for commercial purposes. The import of dogs will now be allowed only for defence and police forces, research and development organisations, and those who already own pets abroad and have documentation to prove it. Breeders have criticised the decision while activists hail it.
