FIFA Appoints First Woman Secretary General

Senegal's Fatma Samba Diouf Samoura has been appointed as Fifa's first female secretary general. Samoura, 54, who speaks four languages, has worked for the U.N. for 21 years and currently works in Nigeria. She will start at football's governing body in June and will undergo an eligibility check before her role is ratified.
