Accepting the challenge of storing renewable energy, a startup in Nevada has come up with a solution using the technology of pumped-storage hydropower. Here, the excess off-peak energy pushes a heavily-loaded train up, and when the energy is needed back, the cars are rolled back down the slope generating energy and putting it back on the grid.
