Oil Slump Causes Sharp Decline in Gulf Remittance to India

India may have benefited from cheap oil, but global oil price collapse has caused a 27 percent slump in remittance from Indians working abroad. Most of India's remittances come from the oil-rich Gulf, where 7 million Indians have been working, but more and more are being forced to come home as companies have begun retrenching workers.
