Questioning India’s Misplaced Emphasis on Highways

As the government continues with its blind focus on highways, Indian cities are crying out for waste disposal and water supply infrastructure. At Rs. 58000 crore, allocation for the transport ministry is 23% higher than the previous year, but the Water Resources ministry has a budget of Rs. 5500 crore, half of which is for Ganga cleaning program.
