Polio Strain Found in Hyderabad Prompts Vaccination Drive

Government says India continues to be polio free, after a strain of polio virus found in samples of sewage water in Hyderabad turned out to be a vaccine derived polio virus, and its transmission is unlikely. Hyderabad and the neighbouring district, nonetheless, are on alert and a special immunization drive will be held as a precautionary measure.
