Nepal’s Extinct Bird Spotted After Vanishing for 178 Years

A team of bird-watchers stumbled upon the red-faced liocichla bird that hasn’t been spotted in eastern Nepal for 178 years and was thought to be locally extinct. However, nearly 20 percent of Nepal’s birds are threatened with extinction in the country including 37 species which are threatened on a global scale, says the London Zoological Society.
