India Backed Amendments by Islamic Bloc Against LGBT at UN
India abstained during the voting for the resolution which created a watchdog for LGBT rights at United Human Rights Council – but it joined the Islamic bloc in voting in favour of six amendments that sought to frame the appointment as a hegemonic move to violate the cultural, regional and social values of non-western countries.
